A RENOVATION PARTY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN Beginning January 2nd and continuing through the month of March, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is going to be going through a major renovation. The renovation will consist of making the sanctuary all one level and raising just the altar. We will also install new flooring, new paint, moveable altar rails, enhanced lighting and install new cabinets for storage and better use of the space.
The goal of this enhancement is to make the worship space and Fireside Room more attractive, flexible, and welcoming for both visitors and existing church members, while providing for the future use of this space as a parish hall. This project can only be accomplished through the volunteer work of our membership. This means You!!
We will need everyone’s help, young and old, skilled and nonskilled, there will be a job for everyone during the renovation. We plan to communicate through St. Mary’s e-News, Facebook, St. Mary’s Website, as well as a new way of letting us know who will be attending through a website called “Evite” (electronic invitation). As you can see most of the communication is going to be through the internet. This is one of the easiest ways to contact a lot of people at once. If you are anti-internet or anti-email, please sign up in the Fireside room for times when you might be able to help out. There will be many opportunities for all age groups and all skill levels. If I know in advance that younger helpers are coming, I will make sure there are jobs for them.
Looking forward to working together and making this vision a reality.
Some major changes you will see on January 3rd. The “altar” is going to be “altered”. The “altar” area is going to be “altered” to one level with the church and the communion rails will be removed. Don’t’ you love the English language?
BREAKING NEWS
The British are coming

The Kneelers are gone
The Kneelers are gone.
I know there is no connection to the British and the kneelers; I just liked the way it sounded. During the renovation, all the kneelers will be removed. The reason for this is that it is easier to stack and move the red chairs around during the renovation.
Thank you for your understanding,
