Special Financial Appeals

We rely on financial support from our donors to be able to exist as a church, reaching out into the world to reconcile all people to God in Christ. This is our most important outreach, and every gift to St. Mary's helps us do this. We are so thankful for everyone who gives!

We also know that, like us, many organizations rely on money donations to assist people in their need, and that other organizations are also striving to make the world what God intended it to be.

We believe that we are called to give of our abundance to this work. St. Mary's offers financial support in many ways! Here are a few of our beneficiary organizations.

Episcopal Community Services of Northern California (ECS)

Providing grants to churches throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California to support ministries to the community. These include gardens, pantries, and kitchens that provide food for those who don't have enough, health services, human rights advocacy, and programs to lift up the poor and oppressed.

The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem

The Episcopal Church's annual Good Friday Offering benefits the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, with nearly thirty parishes in covers five Middle Eastern countries. Their healthcare and education ministries provide interfaith hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and schools. Their Peace and Reconciliation department is dedicated to strengthening the interfaith dialogue with our fellow Jews and Muslims. Their Kids4Peace program works to educate the next generation in a language of tolerance and acceptance.

Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD)

Episcopal Relief & Development works with Church partners and other local organizations to save lives and transform communities worldwide. ERD rebuilds after disasters and empowers people to create lasting solutions that fight poverty, hunger and disease. Working in close to 40 countries, their programs impact the lives of approximately 3 million people around the world. Find out more about their core programs here:

Kohl's Child Spree

Serving children identified through EGUSD Student Support Centers, Child Spree provides a $150 shopping trip to each of 100 children in July so that they can be ready to go back to school with new clothes, shoes that fit, and a new backpack. Community members can also volunteer to shop with the children, who receive eye exams, a haircut, and other services as well.

United Thank Offering (UTO)

Through UTO, the Episcopal Church invites people to embrace and deepen their spiritual practice of gratitude. Each day as we notice the good things that God has done, we give thanks and make an offering. The church collects these offerings twice a year, and the proceeds go to support innovative mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion. This is a way that a need in one place can be met through resources from somewhere else, so that blessings flow across the world.
