Rev Linda is what is known as a “Cradle Episcopalian” and was baptized and brought up in St Michael’s Concord, in the Diocese of California. After school and a time in Southern California away from the church, she returned to St Michael’s in 1995 with her young daughter, shortly becoming involved in Vestry and Choir. She later agreed to lead the Youth Group and became involved in EFM, becoming a mentor. It was then she felt the call to ordained ministry. Leaving her secular job she entered seminary in 2001.
Linda began ordained ministry in 2006 in the Diocese of California. She served her deaconate in this Diocese at St Timothy, Gidley and was “priested” by B. Barry Beisner.
She was called to the Diocese of San Joaquin in 2008 first as Vicar of both St Andrew’s, Taft and St Michael’s, Ridgecrest (then worshipping outside their building due to a split in the diocese). She later added Interim Pastor at Emmanuel Lutheran, Bakersfield. Linda was also involved in a new Lutheran (ECLA) / Episcopal “hybrid” startup in Pine Mountain, called Open Door, and St Brigid’s in Bakersfield (which eventually merged with St Paul’s).
In 2013, St Michael’s got their building back! She went to serve that congregation as Prist in Charge and to live on campus.
In 2016 she began transitioning toward retirement: In order to be closer to family, she was called to St John’s in Stockton where she served as Priest- in- Charge, enjoying the possibilities of this unique and decidedly urban ministry. In collaboration with the wonderful Deacon Steve Bentley, St John’s has had a remarkable rebirth with a Bicycle Ministry, Mobile Laundry, Showers, etc.
She served two terms on Diocesan Council (Diocese of San Joaquin) and has served on the Commission on Equality, the Finance Committee and as a peer Auditor. During the COVID pandemic, from 2020 to 2023, Linda worked as a Hospice Chaplain for Sutter Health.
Linda has served as Supply Clergy for Holy Trinity, Madera, Resurrection, Merced, St Anne’s Stockton, St John’s, Lodi and most recently St Mary’s, Elk Grove and St Luke’s Galt. She continues with Auditing and Compliance duties by contract with the Diocese of California.
Rev Linda has traveled widely to the Holy places of the church: The Holy Land, Rome and England. She has been on Misson in Belize after Hurricane Mitch, El Paso/Juarez and New Orleans with Youth Mission after Hurricane Katrina. She enjoys spending time with her family (3 grandchildren) who live in Elk Grove, her dogs, cooking and gardening.
